Lawly Security and Privacy: Saying "secure" isn't enough. We spell out what we do.

This page explains in plain terms where your data goes in each product. It does not replace the official policies; you'll find the legal texts at the bottom of the page.

How the products differ

Two products, two different data flows

Lawly Online and Lawly Desktop don't process data in the same place. This difference is also the basis for choosing between them.

Lawly Online

Works over an internet connection

  • Your questions and documents are sent to Lawly servers for processing
  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Your content is not used to train models
  • You can delete your chat history and data at any time

Lawly Desktop

The model runs on your computer

  • Your documents and questions are not sent to any server for processing
  • Analysis runs on your computer's own hardware
  • Only license and update checks, and case law searches you approve, go online
  • No crash reports or usage analytics are sent
  • Works even without an internet connection
Principles

We don't rely on vague adjectives

Words like “secure,” “private” or “local” say nothing on their own. We describe the technical behavior we mean.

Your data isn't used for training

Your uploaded files and conversations are not used to train AI models. This applies to both products.

Encryption

In Lawly Online, your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Full control

You can delete your chat history and uploaded documents at any time.

Where Desktop processes data

In Lawly Desktop, analysis runs on your own hardware; content doesn't leave it.

Third-party services

The official policy documents list which services are used and for what purpose.

No unverified claims

We don't make any security claim on this page that hasn't been technically verified.
